Mr. James D. Kormon, Jr., ADEAS’ Board Chairman holds a joint Master Degree in Development Studies and International Relations from Staffordshire University, United Kingdom; B.Sc. Degree in Economics with Honors in Political Science from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone; and a High School diploma from St. Patrick’s High School, now Stella Maris Polytechnic, Monrovia, Liberia. He has worked for the UN System in Liberia and abroad and has undertaken several consultancies in the education sector ranging from midterm reviews, baseline surveys to the drafting of policy documents. In April 2007, he consulted with a range of stakeholders in Somalia on the Reconstruction and Development Program (RDP) and rendered expert advice on the Multi Donor Trust Fund. In September and October of 2006, he evaluated, amongst other things, the efficiency, effectiveness, benefits and problems of Mercy Corps implemented World Bank Community Driven Development sub-projects. In May and June of 2006, he evaluated the impact, relevance and overall performance of UNOCHA New York Emergency Relief Fund (ERF) in Liberia. He has also done midterm reviews and policy papers for various institutions. Some of those institutions are UNECA, UNICEF- Liberia, UNOPS Liberia, UNOCHA –Eritrea and has collaborated with various government institutions and line ministries in conducting baseline surveys and monitoring and evaluation exercises. He has also lectured at various universities in Liberia and has held several positions in Government.
